Fitz And The Tantrums Before They Were Famous!

A few years back we were invited by a fellow music friend “The Hen” who told us about a band that we had to see for ourselves.  So we headed down the familiar path to the Echo in Silver Lake in Los Angeles. What followed  turned out to be an amazing performance and introduction to a then  just starting out Fitz and The Tantrums.

In much the same vein as  Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings,  Fitz and The Tantrums are bringing the 1960s and Soul music back in style and people are loving the fresh energetic retro sound.  With their album Pickin’ Up the Pieces released on the Danger Bird Label expect to see a lot more of them in the coming year.

We included performances from that unforgetable night below. * Side note the lighting was so horrible that we had decided not to use the footage but then we figured why not make it look a little retro.  In a weird way it actually fits nicelly , allowing yourself  to imagine  being in the crowd and back in the days of motown!
